Donation Policy
NBB prides itself on being fully owned by the Government of Belize and recognized as “the People’s Bank”.
As a local bank with strong ties in the community, we are committed to being involved as a responsive corporate citizen to help our community prosper. In doing so, the Bank provides support by funding the following requests for donations:
- Youth Activities – Sporting Tournaments, Summer Camps
- Educational Events and Projects o Cultural Activities
- Environmental Activities
Community Projects Requests for assistance must be made in writing to the Finance Manager and should include the following information:
- Description and mission of organization submitting request;
- Purpose of funding being sought; and
- Date of event/project/activity.
Preference is generally given to requests where the Bank receives recognition for its donations. Generally, the Bank does not consider donation requests to or for the following: Individual benefit
- Political parties or campaigns
- Travel or accommodation requests
- For-profit organizations
Donation requests are reviewed on a weekly basis and are approved within the guidelines above, subject to the availability of funds within the approved Budget. The Bank’s contribution may be donation of cash or in-kind (goods or staff assistance).
Organizations granted donations are not eligible for subsequent approvals until six (6) months after receiving a donation.
